Week 1

January 1: Our Heart's Treasure

Scripture: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

Jesus spoke on finances often and understood the struggle begins in our heart.

Prayer: LORD, My God, I want You to be the treasure of my heart. Help me to desire You and what is pleasing to You above everything else. In Jesus, Amen.

January 2: Trust in the Trustworthy One

Scripture: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” Psalm 20:7

It’s tempting to trust in our own ability or what we can control. Trusting God is a process of learning that He is trustworthy. That process requires us to step out in faith. At every step of obedience, He is faithful to meet us.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for loving me and being patient with me. Please help me to trust You and step out in faith as You lead me in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 3: Good and Faithful Servant

Scripture: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord'”. Matthew 25:16-23

Everything we have comes from God and He does reward good stewards. Stewardship, or taking care of someone else’s stuff, is a blessing beyond monetary gain.

Prayer: LORD God, I want to hear You say these words of me one day, “good and faithful servant”. I choose to invest in Your Kingdom as You instruct and have instructed me. In Jesus name, Amen.

January 4: Fear Not

Scripture: “For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you.’” Isaiah 41:13

Fear can paralyze us and can keep us from stepping out in faith. This steals our joy and peace. In contrast, trusting Jesus gives us peace when our surroundings seem impossible.

Prayer: My God, I confess that fear grips me, and keeps me from trusting You. Please forgive me for doubting. Father, please provide Your peace as I choose to act on my faith in You. In Jesus name, Amen.

January 5: God is Faithful

Scripture: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the flood gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10

God was and still is the source for everything we have. He is faithful to bless us as we actively trust Him with our lives and resources.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness. Please prepare my heart this week to hear You and be obedient to You in Jesus name, Amen.

January 6: Obedience over Sacrifice

Scripture: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22

The people in Samuel’s day were going through the motions of tradition and worship, but they were not listening to God and obeying Him. They had lost track of God in the trappings of their religion.

Prayer: Father, help me to not go through the motions in my relationship with You. I want to be challenged by You and live for You. I will be obedient to how You direct me in my life and in my tithe, In Jesus name, Amen.

January 7: Praise and Commitment

Scripture: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3

God can be trusted with our present and future. When we rely on Him, He will direct our path. Why does God’s word say so much about money? Why do our tithes and offerings matter to Jesus? Because He knows how easy it is for us trust in what we see and can calculate rather than in Him.

Prayer: Lord, My God, I commit to trust and be obedient to You in my tithes and offerings. Lead me and my family today to rely on You in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Week 2

January 8: Joy in Sacrifice

Scripture: “But the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will certainly buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God which cost me nothing.” 2 Samuel 24:24

King David, a man after God’s own heart, wanted his sacrifice to be a sacrifice. He was determined to demonstrate his devotion and repentance to God through his giving.

Prayer: Father, I know I can never repay You for all You have done for me. Please mold my heart to mirror Your own, instilling in me the willingness to make sacrifices joyfully to honor You in Jesus name, Amen.

January 9: Cheerful Giving

Scripture: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

God knows our heart and our motivations. He loves a cheerful giver because a cheerful giver is fully trusting in God as his/her provider and sustainer.

Prayer: Lord God, I want to be a cheerful giver. Help me to be obedient and joyful with my tithes and offerings in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 10: Honor God First

Scripture: “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce.” Proverbs 3:9

We honor God when we put Him first. The first fruits of our “produce” today means to set aside your tithe first rather than waiting to see what you can comfortably spare. Honoring God is valuing Him and His Kingdom as a priority.

Prayer: My God and my King, I want to honor you with the resources You have given me. Help me to prioritize Your Kingdom and to lay aside my tithe first in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 11: Purpose in Giving

Scripture: “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. Romans 12:8

God created us to give. He has gifted us with spiritual gifts, abilities, and resources for the purpose of glorifying Him and building up the body of Christ, the church. We find real purpose when we give of ourselves and resources.

Prayer: Father, thank you for creating me for purpose and gifting me to serve You and others with my abilities and resources. Show me how to do this today and this week in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 12: Be the Church

Scripture: “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” Romans 12:13

You don’t just “go to church” you “are the church”. Our mission is to invite people into a relationship with Jesus & gather into the community at New Hope. Our contributions provide hospitality and reach people for Jesus.

Prayer: Father God, help me to be the church and to support New Hope with the gifts and resources you have given me as I invite others to meet Jesus and gather to grow in Jesus at New Hope in Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 13: Freedom from Withholding

Scripture: “One gives freely yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.” Proverbs 11:24

We withhold because we are afraid. Fear is the opposite of trusting in Jesus and this will result in suffering want. We will never be satisfied until we are free.

Prayer: Lord God, you are a good Father and I want to fully trust You with my life and finances. Help me to be free from withholding and to trust You today in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

January 14: Excel in Grace

Scripture: “Just as you excel in everything– in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us– see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” 2 Corinthians 8:7

Paul said these words when encouraging the Church in Corinth to help the believers in Judea. A measure of a mature believer is loving and helping brothers and sisters in Jesus when given the opportunity.

Prayer: Lord, I’m committed to growing in my faith, deepening my knowledge of You, and actively supporting your church. Like physical muscles, I understand that my spiritual strength develops through consistent use. Help me to be consistent in these areas as a testimony of my commitment to You in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 3

January 15: Beauty for Ashes in California

Scripture: “… to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:3

God offers hope and restoration to those mourning loss, like victims of the California fires. Fire devastates, but God promises to rebuild and bring beauty from ashes when people call out to Him. He has the power to restore and renew lives ETERNALLY even during tragedy.

Prayer: Father, we mourn with California. The images we see daily break our heart, but we know You are mighty and able to do abundantly more than we can even imagine in the lives of the victims of this tragedy. We pray that You will exchange their ashes for eternal beauty and bring practical help that brings glory to Jesus. In Him, Amen.

January 16: Family Devotion

Scripture: “”As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

God created family to showcase His character and love for us. Regardless of where our family is in devotion to God, we can start with ourselves and pray for God to bring those under our roof into fellowship and obedience to Him.

Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me my family related by flesh and those related by Jesus. Help me to be devoted to You and help me to shepherd those under my care and in my influence. I pray for my family members who are far from You and pray that You will save them and restore them in Jesus name, Amen.

January 17: Peace of Jerusalem

Scripture: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure.” Psalm 122:6

God commands us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem”. Israel and Jerusalem today are a modern Biblical miracle. Praise God we are alive to see His Word fulfilled with Israel back in her land

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the great blessing of being alive for “such a time as this” and witnessing the miracle of Israel being restored. We pray for the people of Israel to also be restored spiritually to realize that Jesus is their Messiah. Father, we know true peace comes to Jerusalem when Israel receives her Prince of Peace, Jesus! In Jesus name, Amen.

January 18: Revival and Rejoicing

Scripture: “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” Psalm 85:6

The heartfelt plea here is for God to restore us to the fullness of His presence. Revival comes from a deep longing and brokenness for Him, leading to genuine joy through an intimate closeness with Jesus. We long for revival individually, at New Hope and in our community.

Prayer: Lord, I echo the words of the psalmist and ask, “Will You not revive us again?” Restore our hearts and renew our passion for You, Lord. Revive me, Lord, that I will walk in Your ways and declare Your goodness. Revive New Hope, Lord, that we as a church family point people to Jesus and bring glory to You name in our community and beyond. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

January 19: The Next Generation

Scripture: “”Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Paul encouraged Timothy not to feel insecure about his youth but to boldly set an example with his words and conduct. Timothy’s walk would inspire others and give credibility to his faith. This reminds young believers that age is no barrier to influencing others for Christ

Prayer: Father, inspire our kids and students at New Hope to be bold in their faith. Let them reflect Jesus in their schools, homes, and communities. Help them to live with integrity, love, and purity, standing firm in their belief in You despite challenges or peer pressure in Jesus name, Amen.

January 20: Our Nation & Unity

Scripture: “”I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 2 Timothy 2:1-2

God is sovereign over rulers and world events. He wants us to be active in His will by praying for ALL Leaders regardless of their party or policy. We live peaceful and quiet lives by fully trusting that God is working ALL THINGS to His glory.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You that You are sovereign over all nations. We pray that our nation, America, will turn to You in unity and worship. Bring unity to Your people starting with me. We repent for the ways we have strayed from Your truth and seek Your forgiveness. May You restore our nation and heal the divisions. Let us be Ambassadors for Christ bringing reconciliation to those around us in Jesus name, Amen.

January 21: Harvest Workers

Scripture: “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'” Matthew 9:37-38

Jesus is highlighting the urgent need for more workers to share the Gospel and disciple others. Just as God was at work then, He is still active today. In the midst of life’s busyness, it is even more crucial that we take our place as workers in the harvest field, diligently focused on our Father’s business.

Prayer: Father, help me to not be too busy to be about Your business of sharing the gospel and serving others. Thank You for the opportunities we have at New Hope to work the harvest in our community. Use me and bring in more workers for the harvest in Jesus name, Amen.
