INTRODUCTION AND ORIENTATION TO THE PARKINSON’S DISEASE (PD) ADVOCATE PROGRAM- This ground breaking program offers newly diagnosed and others ways to cope with these scary times. Advocates offer Encouragement, Positivity, Discovery, Resources,,and Developments. The advocates are trained volunteers who have the disease and can empathize with others who are struggling with PD. These advocates come along side and assist you in a number of ways, such as pointing to information and resources related to your specific individual needs, as well as providing encouragement and emotional support. (The PD Advocate Program is not intended nor implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.)
